Enumeration of a device under a particular device type depends on the connection mode in which it is connected to the system. Hence, it is possible that some devices may get enumerated under more than one device type depeding on its connection mode.

For example, if a mobile phone is connected to the system in USB mode, then it will be detected under "Removable Storage" on the system and can be controlled by " Storage Devices > USB Storage Devices" device type in Device Control.

If the same mobile phone is connected to the system in MTP/PTP mode, then it will be detected under "Portable Devices" on the same system and will be enumerated as " Windows Portable Devices". Therefore, it can now be controlled by "Mobile & Portable Devices > Windows Portable Devices" device type in Device Control.
